    Do you need a course area?

    Order a new Moodle course using OMA implementation or hankintalomake.metropolia.fi/moodle/. 

    Logging in to Moodle

    You can log in to Metropolia's Moodle using three types of credentials:

    • Metropolia: Primary login method using Metropolia credentials.
    • Haka-log in: Login with credentials from another Finnish higher education institution.
    • Education ID: For users who have been given separate educational/local credentials.

    If you do not see your courses when logging in via Haka, please activate your Metropolia credentials. After activation, log in to Moodle using your Metropolia username.

Game activity / Technical issues

There is a technical issue in Moodle’s Game activities, which prevents students from continuing a game that has been left unfinished. The Game activities have also been found to be deficient in terms of accessibility, and the activity has been removed from Metropolia Moodle’s activity menu (i.e. new activities can no longer be added). The activity will be completely phased out in October 2026.

If your course currently uses content created with the Game activity and its completion is essential for passing the course, we recommend that you:

  • Inform students clearly that the activity must be completed in a single session from start to finish, as it cannot be resumed once interrupted.
  • Note that, as a teacher, you have the option to reset a student’s incomplete attempt via the activity’s Show attempts view, allowing the student to start the activity again from the beginning.

If you want to create gamified elements (e.g. crossword puzzles) for your online course, you can create them using H5P tools.

Moodle-huoltokatkot / Maintenance breaks

Metropolia Moodlen huoltokatkot keväällä 2026:

  • 17.2. klo 22-24
  • 21.4. klo 22-24
  • 8.5. klo 07-08

Moodle ei ole käytössä huoltokatkon aikana.

 Metropolia Moodle maintenance breaks Spring 2026:

  • 17.2. 10 p.m. to midnight
  • 21.4. 10 p.m. to midnight
  • 8.5. 7-8 a.m.

Moodle will be out of service during the maintenance breaks.
