Sources in an original language other than English
Translated works
For translated works, the reference should include details of the translator, provide the author’s surname and first initial followed by a full stop and a comma then provide the year plus a full stop. Title of book should be italicised. “Translated from (language) by (name of translator)” comes after the book title and is followed by a full stop and comma. Give the place of publication followed with a colon and the publisher and end the reference with a full stop.

For works that have been published in a language other than English, you should provide the full information as for books or other sources.

If you feel the reader of your assignment would not be familiar with the language of your source and would not understand the title, you could give this in brackets as a courtesy.
