This course teaches you how to design and produce virtual spaces and environments for virtual reality, metaverse platforms and virtual production. Design part explains the classical design practices used eg. in architecture, interior architecture, landscape architecture, spatial art and installations. Differences between virtual world and real world design is also discussed. Production part teaches you how the designs are realized using 3D software and game engine and published for metaverse platform. As a coursework you design and produce your own virtual space or environment and publish it.

Creative methods as a tool for expressing and sharing meanings, emotions, and experiences. Socio-pedagogical principles in facilitating creative methods. Advocacy, goal-oriented facilitating, planning and evaluation. Reflecting together. Simple Finnish vocabulary and phrases used in interactions with diverse service users.

Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student will:

• understand the cultural basis of their own actions
• recognise the effects of different languages, cultures and expatriate experiences on the activities of individuals and organisations
• be able to identify the dimensions of cultural sensitivity and language awareness in their approach to work.
