Kurssialueelle liittyminen

This course deepens the student’s understanding of sensor systems used in mobile robots, drones, and other autonomous systems. The course focuses on how different sensors measure the environment, how uncertainty and error affect sensor performance, and how sensor fusion can be used to produce more reliable information for perception, localization, mapping, and control.

During the course, students examine key sensing modalities such as IMUs, cameras, and LiDAR, and learn how multimodal sensor systems are designed for changing real-world conditions. The course combines theory, applied examples, and analytical tasks, and also prepares students for later practical laboratory work in sensor systems.
