
Sensor Technologies and Basics of Sensor Fusion-course (1 ECTS) is a compact introduction to the “senses” of autonomous robots and drones. The course walks you through the most common motion, distance and environment sensors (such as IMU, wheel encoders, GPS/GNSS, LiDAR, ultrasonic sensors and cameras) and shows how they are used to perceive the world and support control and navigation.
You’ll look at how sensor signals are generated, what can go wrong (noise, bias, latency), and how simple preprocessing and fusion steps can turn raw measurements into more reliable information. Examples are drawn from mobile robots and UAVs, but the ideas apply to many intelligent systems.
