SusTexEdu concept is developed in the SusTexEdu project. The concept bases on micro-credentials consisting of small learning units. The starting point of the project was to enhance textile and clothing education in Europe to meet the challenges of sustainable development, by taking into account the targets of the EU environmental agreements. In the project, a study was carried out to map the competence needs in the textile and clothing sector of the project's partner countries.
The project work was done in 2022-2024 by 7 institutes, which offer textile and clothing education, in 5 European countries: Metropolia UAS I Finland as a project coordinator, University of Borås I Sweden, HOGENT I Belgium, MOME I Hungary, Omnia I Finland, TTHK I Estonia, TTK UAS I Estonia.
The main target group of the SusTexEdu concept are teachers in the higher and VET institutes offering textile and clothing studies.

The thematic modules, including 5-7 small learning units, each 1-2 ECTS / ECVET, were developed taking into account the skills identified in the field. The learning units can be utilized as different combinations in micro-credentials and also as part of already existing courses, according to the intended competencies and learners.
All the 33 learning units (39 ECTS) developed are described on syllabi on this Moodle page. You can also find piloted learning material attached for 17 ECTS. Some of the learning material have very detailed proposals and some of them leave the teacher more room for interpretation. The material has been translated into English to be generally utilized.
